Physician Bio: Dr. John Krumenacker graduated from the State University of New York, Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1990. He then underwent one year of Internal Medicine training at University Hospital, State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed his Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at New England Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine in 1995, earning board certification in Diagnostic Radiology in June of that year. He subsequently trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Fellow in Body Imaging where he developed a keen interest in Chest Imaging.
In 1996 he was appointed to the staff at Nassau University Medical Center as Section Chief of Chest Radiology and later was designated as QA Director for the department. He remained in that post until March 2005 when he joined the staff of Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases in Manhattan as an Assistant Attending Radiologist and as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. In 2007 he returned to Nassau University Medical Center and resumed his position as Section Chief in Chest Imaging with a strong interest in the education and professional development of the Radiology Residents. Additionally, Dr. Krumenacker instructed medical students from multiple institutions with regard to the fundamentals of Chest Radiology. He is the five-time recipient of the “Teacher of the Year” award.
