Physician Bio: Dr. Steven Lev graduated from Princeton University in 1984, earning an A.B. with cum laude honors in chemistry. He received his MD degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1988. He subsequently completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York in 1993 and performed a fellowship in neuroradiology at New England Medical Center Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Lev was appointed to the staff of Nassau University Medical Center, as Director of Neuroradiology, in 1995. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with a Certificate of added qualification in Neuroradiology. Dr. Lev is committed to research, teaching and education. He currently holds a position as Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Lev serves as radiology clinical course director for medical students and has been awarded teacher of the year three times. He leads the QA program for the NUMC Radiology Department, and he has helped to implement important initiatives concerning quality and patient safety. Dr. Lev has presented over one hundred abstracts at major scientific meetings, including storyboard exhibits at RSNA, highlighting our quality achievements. From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Lev performed as a Fellow for the Clinical Quality Fellowship Program (CQFP) of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) and the United Hospital Fund (UHF). He was also invited in 2012, by the National Association of Public Hospitals (NAPH), to present a paper “Stroke – How to Make Every Minute Count”, which was published in the March/April 2012 Journal for Healthcare Quality, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. This year, Dr. Lev was appointed as educational chairperson of the Long Island Radiological Society, and elected as a Member at Large to the medical staff at NUMC. On a personal level, he is a world traveler, having visited close to eighty countries and all seven continents, and he is also an artist and a photographer. |
