Sofia Rubinstein, MD is an attending nephrologist at Nassau University Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, and a nephrology fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, NY. She received her Masters (MS) in Clinical Research from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University.
Dr. Rubinstein is actively involved in educational activities and research efforts of the division and the department where she is in charge of research meetings and regularly lectures to residents, fellows, and medical students. Dr. Rubinstein has written numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and review articles. She is a reviewer for several journals.
Dr. Rubinstein has been a site co-director for Introduction to Clinical Medicine for 1st year Stony Brook medical students and a lecturer in pathophysiology seminars for 2nd year Stony Brook medical students for the past 7 years.
As a Director of Ambulatory Services, Dr. Rubinstein provides oversight of the renal outpatient clinics. She also serves on numerous institutional committees.
Dr. Rubinstein is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology.
