Physician Bio: Edwin Gonzalez MD, FACS Attending Surgeon Department of Surgery Nassau University Medical Center Dr. Gonzalez received his MD degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/ Rutgers Medical School in 1988. He did his surgical residency and critical care fellowship at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City. He joined the Queens-Long Island Medical Group were he practiced general surgery until he joined the faculty at Nassau University Medical Center. Dr. Gonzalez’s areas of expertise include treatment of breast cancer, abdominal surgery and trauma and critical care management. He is the clinical surgical clerkship Director for undergraduate medical student education at Nassau University, and is clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
