Physician Bio: Zae Kim, MD,
Director of Dialysis Services,
Nassau University Medical Center,
East Meadow, New York.
Zae Kim, MD, received his M.D. degree from SUNY Downstate, received residency training in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset, and completed his nephrology fellowship at NYU Medical Center. In 2009, Dr. Kim joined the faculty at the Nassau University Medical Center.
As research fellow, Dr. Kim focused on immune mechanisms in glomerular diseases and renal mononuclear phagocytes in health and disease of the kidney. In addition, he has also written about different modalities of extracorporeal removal of drugs and other poisons. His current clinical interests are Kidney Stone, Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. His research interests are in dialysis as well as end of life care issues in the dialysis patients.
As Director of Dialysis Services he provides medical oversight and direction, functional leadership and accountability for the medical management of the Dialysis Unit.
Dr. Kim is the Internal Medicine Co-Clerkship Director for medical students from American University of Caribbean, teaching attending for internal medicine residents and nephrology fellows, as well as a lecturer in pathophysiology seminars for 2nd year Stony Brook medical students.
